Biju Pattnaik College of Hotel Management & Tourism (BPCHMT) is one of the constituent units of Biju Pattnaik Memorial Organisation (BPMO). The BPMO was named after the legendary figure and the architect of Modern Orissa, late Sri Biju Pattnaik. Formed on the 1st death Anniversary of the great leader in 1998, it was a tribute of commitment to the cause of poor, down-trodden and deprived lot. A realisation that the upliftment of these sections could bring about a social change. Education and more so the job Oriented & Professional ones, could become the catalyst of such developmental change. A humble beginning was made by starting Biju Pattnaik Computer Academy to spread Mass Computer literacy across the state at a nominal cost. The mission became a pioneering success. Spurred by this achievement & Students demand, a unit of Hotel Management & Tourism College was started to fill the industry demand and availability gap in this sector.  

                                The organisation was guided by the cherised ideals of this great leader. It was a tribute to the leaders' vision and dream to uplift the poor & deprived from the morass of poverty, distress and degradation, A social commitment to work towards alleviation of human sufferings and to contribute to social justice and eradication of unemployment.Biju Pattnaik Computer academy started wide range of courses from elementary to advanced at an affordable cost throwing open computer education to the common man and breaking the barriers of the opportunity being limited to the elitist group.
